Allen vs. Duncan: Contender stakes and the matchups to watch on October 10
Brendan Allen and Christian Leroy Duncan bring winning streaks into a middleweight headliner with a clear rankings opportunity for Duncan. UFC has announced their October 10, 2026 meeting at Meta APEX in Las Vegas, atop a card that also features a division change, established names seeking recovery and prospects worth watching early.
UFC lists Allen at No. 4 with three consecutive victories and Duncan at No. 10 with five. Allen's latest success came against Edmen Shahbazyan in June, following wins over Marvin Vettori and Reinier de Ridder. Duncan has beaten Roman Dolidze and Jared Cannonier by decision this year.
Those results give the headliner substance beyond the rankings: Duncan has an opportunity to beat a top-five opponent, while Allen can protect his position against a challenger gathering momentum.
Beyond the headliner
The provisional main-card grouping includes Gerald Meerschaert against Julius Walker at light heavyweight. AfroCombat reported in August that Meerschaert was moving to 205 pounds after five consecutive defeats and that Walker had lost his previous two fights. The change of division makes Meerschaert's response a central question.
Jai Herbert versus Matheus Camilo offers a different attraction. UFC's fighter histories record first-round stoppages in their latest appearances: Herbert over Mandel Nallo in April and Camilo over Nazim Sadykhov in June. Both have recent evidence that they can end a fight early, although that does not guarantee another quick finish.
Ketlen Souza faces a straightforward divisional test against Loopy Godinez, whom UFC lists eighth at strawweight. Kai Kamaka III versus Andre Fili is also included in the provisional grouping, alongside Otari Tanzilovi versus Malcolm Wellmaker at bantamweight. UFC lists six knockout victories for Wellmaker, while Tanzilovi describes a background that includes national boxing and kickboxing titles in his UFC Q&A.
Reasons to watch the prelims
Among the provisionally listed prelims, RJ Harris faces Allen Frye Jr. UFC lists Harris at 6-0 following his July stoppage of Alvin Hines. His development also comes alongside a demanding day job: Harris says in his UFC Q&A that he works full-time as a power-and-communications lineman.
Felipe Franco brings another notable finishing record against Brendson Ribeiro. UFC credits Franco with an 11-2 record and stoppages in all 11 victories, including a second-round finish of Levi Rodrigues Jr. in July. That makes Ribeiro's ability to contain his offense a useful point to watch.
Leon Shahbazyan meets Niko Price, with UFC listing 11 submission victories for Shahbazyan. Alice Pereira, meanwhile, faces Daria Zhelezniakova after knocking out Hailey Cowan in April, giving her an opportunity to build on her first UFC victory.
Ismael Bonfim versus Francisco Prado and Melissa Gatto versus Ernesta Kareckaite complete the listed preliminary matchups. Gatto's four submission wins provide a particular reason to watch how her fight develops if it reaches the ground.
Allen–Duncan is confirmed as the headliner. The remaining main-card and preliminary placements should be treated as provisional; the matchups above are not a confirmed running order.
